This was quite shocking news on MSN. The journalist who brought out this story deserves a pat on his back.
Now the real point of discussion is whether the Minister failed as an honest politician or is it the son who failed to fall short of his father’s standards. Or is it so hard for us to see a person who is actually WORKING to earn his livelihood.
In the same article it was mentioned, I Quote “In an era when wards of even low-level functionaries flaunt wealth by driving classy sports utility vehicles (SUVs), Uday Prakash Gupta, son of Mohanlal Gupta, who was a member in the erstwhile Karpoori Thakur cabinet, pedals off to sell newspapers everyday.”
Can we actually be proud of those relatives or wards of the ministers who are squandering the public money?
In the west, one is known by the bucks he/she makes and not with what they were born with as inheritance or mere gene transfer. As long as a person is working and willing to work he should be accepted and acknowledged for the fact that he is fighting it out against the odds.
